Difference Between Do Follow And No Follow Backlinks

Backlinks play a crucial role in SEO ranking. It is normally used to enhance domain authority(DA), page authority(PA), and seo rankings. By high-quality backlinks, PA, and high domain, you create high credibility for your site. To understand the difference between Do follow and no follow backlinks, we need to give a bit of knowledge about how most backlinks work in SEO. When a site page gets a backlink, then the page gets a little SEO boost. Think backlink as a point, and the more backlinks you have on your page or site, the more boost your website will get. There are two types of backlinks-Do follow backlink and No follow backlink. When you look for types of backlinks, there are two types of backlinks: do-follow and no-follow. If someone is reading the web page, they will never see the difference between a no-follow and dofollow and a  backlink.

Below in the article we have discussed both the backlink in detail. Both help your website to stay high on the Google page.

What is Do Follow Backlinks?

All links are do-follow backlinks by default unless changed to be nofollow backlinks automatically or manually modified by a website setting.

Crawlers of Search engines follow backlinks. In different words, they remain to crawl different pages they find through usual links. Dofollow links move along what the search engine optimization community usually calls “link juice.” By discovering which web pages are often associated with, search engines can discover how sites should rank in search results.

In contrast, nofollow links contain a bit of code, asking search engines not to drag them or include them as quality votes. Sometimes you may not guarantee all links on your site, particularly if they are user-submitted or linked to publications.

This is how a Nofollow implementation looks like in HTML:

<a rel=”nofollow” href=”http://websitename.com”>great seo tools</a>

A dofollow purpose is just a descriptor since a dofollow use for the rel attribute does not exist in HTML. So, dofollow backlinks are technically any links that do not have an rel attribute with a nofollow value.

This is how a do follow link looks like in HTML:

<a href=”http://websitename.com”>great seo tools</a>

Unless a website setting changes the code, you don’t need to do anything when building a new link to make it a do-follow link.

What Is No Follow Backlink?

If the given link is nofollow, it indicates that the Google bot will not crawl the link and not give any link juice. This is how a no-follow link looks like:

<a href= http://www.xyz1.com rel=”nofollow”>xyz1</a>

<a href= http://www.xyz2.com rel=”external nofollow”>xyz2</a>

Did you see rel HTML tag in the given links above? Both the links do not follow keywords in their original tag, which indicates both are nofollow links. Even though the nofollow link does not give any link juice, it benefits you to bring traffic to your site, so if you are creating No-follow links, there is no wrong. Google does not support these links; however, different search engines consider them. We have told it in detail at the end of the article.

If you want, you can also create a complete post nofollow with the help of robots meta tag for that; you can just combine the given statement to the header part of a page/post.

<meta name=”robots” content=”nofollow” />

By using the above statement, you can make a complete post/page nofollow. All the links given on the page will be used as nofollow even though they do not have a Nofollow rel-tag.

Conclusion

As we mentioned in the above article, both do follow links and no follow links look the same. Every link is a do-follow backlink by default unless changed to be nofollow backlinks automatically or manually modified by a website setting.
