Fastest 50 In The CPL

Cricket has several formats, and the T20 has proven to be the most entertaining. For hard-hitting batsmen such as those on this list, it has become a place to showcase their talents. CPL 2021 schedule is ready to start and powerful players driving the ball out of the park, here are 5 best players with the fastest 50 in the CPL.

Evin Lewis

Lewis rose through the ranks of Trinidad & Tobago cricket, where he was a member of a championship-winning Under-19 team in 2008. In October 2009, he made his List A debut for the West Indies U-19s, when he scored a half-century. In January of the following year, he was playing for them in the World Cup.

Lewis, like Gayle, has excelled in T20 cricket. A strike rate of 141.61 made him Trinidad & Tobago’s best scorer in the Champions League in 2013. In the semi-final, he struck 62 runs off 46 balls against a Mumbai Indians attack that included Mitchell Johnson and Harbhajan Singh.

Keiron Pollard

The IPL auction indicated a revolution in the global game, and Pollard continued to demonstrate how much ground franchise cricket clubs had gained on the international game in the months that followed. He dropped out of the West Indies A squad to play Twenty20s for Somerset and then turned down a WICB primary contract since signing it would require him to be available for West Indies at all times.

Pollard improved his international career over the next three years, making two half-centuries during the 2011 World Cup, and then broke his century duck by slamming a 110-ball 119 in a crisis scenario against India in Chennai later on that year.

Jean-Paul Duminy

Duminy smashed a 15-ball 50, which is still the fastest to date in CPL. This record-breaking run occurred during the Barbados Tridents vs. Trinbago Knight Riders match, where the tridents won by 63 runs. Jean-Paul Barbados Tridents player was all over the Kensington oval and his 20-ball 65, consisted of 6 fours and 7 sixes. This led to an outstanding strike rate of 325, which assisted his team in posting 192 runs with the loss of 5 wickets.

Sohail Tanvir

Sohail Tanvir, a Rawalpindi native, made his first-class premier against Peshawar in October 2004 and followed up with an unbeaten 97 and three wickets against Multan in his second match.

In 2007, he represented Pakistan Academy on their tour to Bangladesh, and his outstanding all-round performance on that trip, as well as his ODI series against Australia A at home, inspired the selectors to choose him as Shoaib Akhtar’s successor for the first ICC World Twenty20.

Andre Russell

Russell, a Jamaican all-rounder, debuted in first-class cricket at 19. He played for West Indies A side, and his heroics in a 50-over game against Ireland in June 2010 drew a lot of attention, with him blasting 61 off 34 balls and getting 6 for 42. It was a display that secured him a spot in the West Indies’ World Cup roster for 2011. Things didn’t go as planned then, but his powers were on display in June when he walked out at No. 9 with the score at 96 for 7 and hammered 92 off 64 balls against the recently crowned champions in the Caribbean Premiere League.
